AI EdTech Evaluation
for NYC Public Schools

Led a team of nine policy fellows to build an AI procurement and evaluation framework for New York City Public Schools. The project combined market segmentation of available AI EdTech products, benchmarking against peer urban districts, and stakeholder mapping, culminating in an AI Procurement Scoring Matrix for evaluating tools on safety, equity, and instructional efficacy. Presented governance recommendations to senior district leadership.

Financial Explorer

An interactive data visualization of North Carolina county finances built from Annual Financial Information Reports (AFIR) published by the NC Department of State Treasurer. The tool covers all 100 counties and supports revenue composition breakdowns, expenditure allocation, per capita peer-group comparisons, side-by-side county comparisons, a choropleth map, multi-year trend analysis, and fund balance health gauges. Data reflects fiscal year 2025, with automatic fallback to the most recent available year for counties with filing gaps.

Policy Research

Conducted independent research on AI policy trends across the U.S. and Germany at a Washington, D.C. think tank, assessing economic and strategic implications. Published five articles covering Germany's national AI strategy, opportunities for U.S.-German AI collaboration, and profiles of key technology policymakers in the new German government. Research was produced for program directors and the organization president.

Health Dashboard

An interactive benchmarking tool for North Carolina local governments. Users select any NC municipality and compare key fiscal health indicators, fund balance levels, property tax rates, and tax-to-assessed-value ratios, against peer municipalities in the same NCLGC classification group. Built to support fiscal analysis, local government transparency, and comparative decision-making. Data sourced from the NC Local Government Commission.
